Darien Caine

A Bay-Area native, Darien returned home after obtaining a B.S. in Biochemistry from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, but decided ultimately that he wanted something different from his career. A serendipitous reconnection with the Director of an afterschool arts program he had attended as a youth led Darien to working at Handful Players and the African-American Shakespeare Company, two nonprofit organizations dedicated to expanding access to the arts by bringing it directly to their community.

A strategist with a deep love for mission-driven work, Darien comes to Northern Light School with a vision of helping the school achieve its goals of serving its diverse community in raising the next generation of community builders and change makers. Having attended a school not unlike Northern Light himself, Darien understands the value that a caring, invested, and dedicated group of teachers and staff can have on a child, and wants nothing more than to help continue the legacy Northern Light has established for itself.
