Melina Botton

As an experienced and passionate educator, Melina thrives in finding creative and engaging ways to share her love for children, language, and social justice.Known for her dynamic teaching style and ability to connect with students, Melina is a firm believer that every student has the potential to succeed, and is committed to creating a nurturing and fun learning environment.
 
Born and raised in Mexico, the daughter of refugees, and an immigrant herself, language, culture, and social responsibility are part of Melina's DNA. Melina
holds a BA in History from Brandeis University, a graduate certification in PsychoPedagogy from the Universidad IberoAmericana in Mexico, and a certification in Integrated Learning. She has been teaching Spanish as a second language for the past nine years in schools around the Bay Area.
 
In her free time, Melina enjoys spending time with family and friends, is an multimedia artist, a committed foodie, and an advocate for building and bridging
communities.
 
Melina is excited by the opportunity to bring this enthusiasm to Northern Light School.
