Lindsey Parrott grew up in Oakland and played college volleyball at UC Berkeley, where she also got her BA in History. She also earned her MA at Mills College, where she learned how important activism through the classroom is and the importance of an anti-racist, identity focused history curriculum is for the younger generation of future leaders. Through the study of world history, Northern Light students will be able to see both themselves and their future, as well as the future of our community.

“The great force of history comes from the fact that we carry it within us, are unconsciously controlled by it in many ways, and history is literally present in all that we do.” ― James Baldwin, The Price of the Ticket
