Zarinah Blockton proves that Impossible is Nothing!

In third grade, when Zarinah Blockton was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up she confidently responded, "An astronaut." For her, nothing was going to deter her from reaching her goal; not even the loss of her father.

After graduating from Northern Light School in 2000, Zarinah attended the College Preparatory School of Oakland and went on to attend Purdue University. In June, she graduated from Purdue with a Bachelor's degree in Astronautical Engineering. Zarinah is currently a member of the mission operations group at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and has worked on a variety of launch vehicle related projects.

For the next year and a half, Zarinah plans to give back and teach overseas in Vietnam and Chile. When she has finished teaching overseas, Zarinah plans to return to the United States and pursue her Master's Degree in Aerospace Design. Zarinah is well on her way of achieving her goal of becoming an astronaut. Zarinah, we are so proud of you! Keep up the great work!

We have set a goal this year to raise $300,000 at Hollywood Nights this year. The funds will be used to continue providing children with a safe haven and a place to make their dreams a reality.

Come share in this wonderful evening and support our kids. It will be an evening you won't want to miss!
