The dream of Northern Light School became a reality when we opened our doors on September 11, 1989. Our mission was to provide a high quality-learning environment that would take into consideration the academic, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of children who would not otherwise have the opportunity for a private education. It was our hope that children from all walks of life would come together to learn, play, share and challenge each other to become the best they could be.

Our focus continues to be on developing a school that includes children from traditional as well as alternative families, children from all socio-economics levels, children from various cultures, and children with varying academic abilities, thus enabling us to create a school that reflects the 'real world.' It is our contention that in achieving this goal, we will provide a meeting ground for children and adults to work out social challenges, and to prepare them for the differences among individuals, families and communities.
